Skill Levels
Beginner- Student with no prior experience or with less than 10 hours of hot glass instruction.
Advanced Beginner- Student has had 10+ hours of experience on a professional oxygen/propane torch system within the past 6 months. Student can make basic beads on their own.
Intermediate- Student has experience both in and out of class on a duel fuel torch; must be able to readily form beads; work with stringers and other simple decorating techniques confidently without an instructor.
Advanced- Student should have considerable experience on a duel fuel torch and comfortably form a variety of bead shapes; student should have a good working knowledge of how to maintain a bead form while applying surface decoration; student should be able to pull and apply stringer in a consistent manner and work comfortably with an assortment of basic lampworking tools.
Additional Requirements
Students must be 18 years of age to enroll in classes/workshops or rent torch time during Open Studio hours.
Something Phishy Glass Studio does welcome "junior" students age 15 to 17 for private instruction only. Parental permission and attendance at all sessions is required-
No Exceptions.
Basic Class Description & Instruction Offered ~

Fee: $45.00 per 3 hour session; $20 every additional hour
Skill Level: Open to all levels

Want to try your hand at flameworking for the first time but not sure you're ready to learn in a group setting? Need to brush up on a specific technique or two in an intensive way? Then private instruction may be for you!

Beginner Bead Making ~ ON GOING
Instructor: Elisa Minasian
When: Thursday Evenings
Time: 6:30 - 9:30
Fee: $35 per 3 hour session
This is an on going beginner lampworking class. Students will learn at their own pace to make beads, marbles and small sculpture. Proper use of Minor Torch/Oxygen Concentrator and studio safety will be covered.
Price includes use of all studio tools; mandrels and bead release. Glass rods can be purchased at the studio; most rods are $1.00 each.

Multi Week w/ Guest Instructors
When: Tuesday Evening
Time: 6:30 - 9:30
Duration: 11 Weeks
Fee: $385.00 [$35 per week - pay as you go]
Classes run for 11 consecutive weeks and are broken into two sessions:
Class Instruction- Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7 , 9 & 11
Practice Sessions with Assignments- Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, & 10
These classes are for advanced beginner and intermediate students based on Instructors requirements.
Instructor will teach new techniques on the designated "Class Instruction" weeks and the student will have a practice session the following week based on Instructors "homework assignment". [A studio monitor will be available on Practice Weeks]
Students may also have the opportunity to show and sell their finished work to the public at a mini show in the Sprinkler Factory Gallery on the final day of the class.
One Day Workshops
One day workshops are a great way to try your hand at working with glass. No experience is required [unless otherwise stated in workshop description].
Weekend Workshops

When: Saturday & Sunday [when offered - check for upcoming dates]
Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Fee: Variable - Based on Instructors Requirements
[some workshops may also have an additional materials fee in addition to tuition]
We offer students the opportunity to study specific lampworking & glass techniques with world renowned glass artists. While many of these workshops are for intermediate and advanced students we do offer some beginner workshops.

Learn To Classes

Fee: $50 per person - All tools/materials included
Class Size Limit: 6 person minimum - 8 person maximum
Skill Level: Beginner
Have you ever wanted to know how a glass bead is made? Here's your chance to try your hand at it!
This is a fun, fast paced learning experience. Students will learn how to make their own glass bead in this 3 hour class. All tools and materials are included in the fee...all you need to bring is your friends and your creativity.
A great way to celebrate a Birthday or other small gathering.
